Made on Cape Cod: The MILF Market

The MILF (Mothers in Labor for Fashion) Market evolved from a conversation Maura Hempstead had with her husband about how to return to work, while also raising her three children.

The conversation centered around working with artists and promoting quality handcrafts.

“The idea was to create an opportunity for others who have a talent and want to share it, but feel confined by the challenge of getting their creations out into the world,” Hempstead said.

And thus, the MILF Market was born.

Hempstead, who earned a degree in small business management from the University of Vermont had experience working in the arts as Gallery Manager for The Vermont Clay Studio in Waterbury Center.IWC watches are warranted by our cheapwigs for a period of one year from the original date of purchase. There she was “the liaison between the artist Buy China real wholesalecanadagooseoutlet from China ,and the consumer; from the creative work of art, the artist, the display, the marketing, the customer and the sale.”

She developed a passion for handcrafted, unique items made by talented artists.

So, for years she had collected artists’ names at craft fairs, through word of mouth, and from local businesses. And these were the people Hempstead reached out to when the idea for the MILF Market was formed.

The first MILF Market was held at the Island Merchant in Hyannis in December 2010. Hempstead was successful at bringing together the works of 20 artists, totaling over 250 handcrafted products, and has since held two more events.

One such artist is mother of three, burnfat offer a wide selection of Replica Watches of all popular Replica Watches brands including Replica Bell & Ross Watches, Shelby Powers who loves knitting and crocheting hats, scarves and mittens. Her hobby became serious while she was pregnant with her first child. The MILF Market has given her a venue to sell her products.

Megan Nickerson is a native Cape Codder who returned home to raise a family after 10 years of city living and working for internet design agencies. As a full time mother of two, Nickerson uses her creativity to make a line of fun and functional handmade goods that includes quilts, blankets and reusable sandwich bags,A client requested a video to promote his chloehandbags site. which she sells at the MILF Markets.

The MILF Market’s fourth sale will be held once again at the Island Merchant on December 1 from 5-8pm. Among other things, the sale will feature silver and beaded jewelry, scarves, leather journals, handbags and aprons.

Hempstead likes to think of the evening as “an opportunity to shop for some unique handcrafts while enjoying a night out on the town.”

And her hope is that with some “nurturing and a little luck,” the MILF Market will continue to grow and prosper.
